The Big Touareg Looks Glitzier Now And Has A Menu Of High-Tech Extras.

The all-new Volkswagen Touareg has a wider front wheel also forming one unit together with the headlamps which start with LED an optional matrix LED.

The main focal point is a huge infotainment screen. The Tuareg introduces VW’s new in a vision cockpit this mix is a 12-inch- display for the digital dials with an enormous 15-inch screen for the main infotainment system each of the Tuareg specification levels are designed to give a very unique feel atmosphere gets wood inlays on the inside and chrome bits on the outside elegance gets metallic pieces for a modern look while our line is a sportiest choice with piano black trim and a body kit.

The system has four USBs, a wireless hotspot, and an inductive charging mat. You’ve all the usual choice of inputs – USB, CarPlay, Android, Bluetooth, DAB, radio, SD card. The top version has a hybrid radio system that uses both web radio and DAB, seamlessly switching between depending on the available signal.


The front seats are big thrones, adjustable for anybody to find a decent driving position. The ones on the test car have an optional massage function and electrically powered adjustable side bolsters for the cushions and backrest independently. Awesome. They’re controlled, as these things tend to be these days, by a series of animated graphical menus on the big central screen.

The Tuareg chassis is made from a mix of aluminum and steel. So even though it’s bigger than the old car it weighs 106 kilos less. It also gets clever active roll control technology just like the Bentley Ben Tiger. To stop it leaving in safely’s high in the quarry’s list of priorities, a new traffic jam assistant system is able to accelerate brake and turn at speeds of up to 37 miles an hour. And it can even work three roadworks.

meanwhile, a thermal camera gives amazing night vision. The Tuareg x’ lights do a decent job of making night look like the day. Each headlight is fitted with 128 LEDs and they can adjust in milliseconds to prevent dazzling oncoming traffic or just do a cool scrolling indicator thingy like an Audi.


The boot also gains by the car’s huge width. It’s 810 liters, plus a big under boot compartment that held, on the test car, a collapsed spare and air pump. There’s also tons of storage around the cabin.

The new Touareg is only available with a 3.0 liter V6 TDI engine with two different performance options; one with 231hp and one with 286hp. Both come with an 8-gear automatic gearbox, all-wheel drive and provide ample torque. A 340hp V6 petrol engine will join the range in the near future along with another diesel engine; a 421hp V8 TDI. The Touareg will only be sold in China, Europe, -and Russia. With a 367hp plug-in hybrid in the works for the Chinese market.


The third generation VW Touareg has a range of 13 exterior colors- Aquamarine Blue, Tamarind Brown, Juniper Green, Pure White, Pure Black, Antimony Silver, Sand Gold, Quartzite Grey, Reef Blue, Moonlight Blue, Metallic Malbec Red, Metallic Deep Black, and Pearl Oryx White.
