The front seats are big thrones, adjustable for anybody to find a decent driving position. The ones on the test car have an optional massage function and electrically powered adjustable side bolsters for the cushions and backrest independently. Awesome. They’re controlled, as these things tend to be these days, by a series of animated graphical menus on the big central screen.

The Tuareg chassis is made from a mix of aluminum and steel. So even though it’s bigger than the old car it weighs 106 kilos less. It also gets clever active roll control technology just like the Bentley Ben Tiger. To stop it leaving in safely’s high in the quarry’s list of priorities, a new traffic jam assistant system is able to accelerate brake and turn at speeds of up to 37 miles an hour. And it can even work three roadworks.

meanwhile, a thermal camera gives amazing night vision. The Tuareg x’ lights do a decent job of making night look like the day. Each headlight is fitted with 128 LEDs and they can adjust in milliseconds to prevent dazzling oncoming traffic or just do a cool scrolling indicator thingy like an Audi.
