Samsung has launched its new flagship S series smartphones. This time they have launched three smartphones the Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e. click here for S10 and S10+ review.
Samsung Galaxy S10e is a new addition to the lineup coming in at a bit of a lower price. kind of just like what Apple did in September with their iPhones. The Galaxy S10e is a perfect parallel to the iPhone XR. and that’s starting with the price it is 750 bucks just like the XR. which is definitely again not budget by any means but it is lower than the other flagship phone.
The Galaxy S10e is super similar to the regular S10 but it cuts some corners literally to save price and that star with the display which is a bit smaller. Now it’s a 5.8 inch AMOLED display and it’s flat now instead of curved. so basically the Infinity display on the higher end phones sort of melts gloriously over the sides. The S10 has a flat screen meaning it goes mostly edge to edge but it’s a little less dramatic matter of fact it’s similar to the iPhone XR in that the bezels all the way around are just a little bit thicker just a slightly taller chin slightly cut inside bezels. It’s still an over 90percent screen to body ratio.
the display on the S10e is still way better than the display Apple put in the iPhone XR. there was an LCD with a much lower resolution display. On the S10e it’s still a 500+ PPI AMOLED display. so it’s got the same characteristics the same hole punch but it’s just a slightly lesser than the S10.
Another one of the big new features of the S10 was of course have the ultrasonic fingerprint reader under-neath the display glass. that’s pretty high-end and expensive tech. S10e doesn’t have that instead it actually uses a traditional fingerprint reader and it’s in the power button on the right hand side. this is probably the best backup location to put in.
The Galaxy S10e is just like the iPhone XR are removing one of the cameras. the S10 has an extra camera the galaxy S10 just got triple cameras which means the Galaxy S10e now has dual cameras so it shares the same high-end dual aperture primary camera and it also keeps the ultra wide so it doesn’t have the telephoto camera anymore.
with the specifications, they even did the same what Apple did with the SOC in iPhone XR. It had the same chipset but a little bit less RAM. The Galaxy S10e also has the same Snapdragon 855 like the S10 and S10+ but it starts with 6 GB of RAM instead of 8GB but again you can upgrade to get a version with more RAM and more storage.
The Galaxy S10e also has an ip68 certification. and also has expandable storage. The smartphone is a little bit smaller so the battery is also a bit smaller. It is having a 3100mAh battery which is still bigger than the battery of last year’s Galaxy S9. so overall Galaxy S10e appears to be a pretty great phone that costs just a bit less than Samsung’s other new flagships phones.
The sacrifices come in the 3 main areas that are the display, fingerprint reader and cameras. but they’re still pretty good at all those areas so similar to the iPhone XR.
