This move to separate Redmi from Xiaomi and plans to launch its first Redmi-branded smartphone, likely to be Redmi 7 or Redmi Pro 2, in China on January 10.
Ahead of the official launch, Xiaomi has already posted a teaser on its Weibo account. The teaser also hints at the 48-megapixel camera on the phone, also rumoured as Redmi Pro 2.
Apart from the 48MP camera sensor, Xiaomi Redmi 7 will use Qualcomm’s mid-range focused Snapdragon 675 chipset which features Kryo 460 CPU and Adreno 612 GPU for graphics. It also supports 480 fps HD slo-mo recording.
For the year 2019, there are big plans for the company. In its first year of the year, the company can launch Redmi Pro 2 or Redmi 7 in China. More likely that the company is about to launch Redmi Pro 2.
The company has opened reservations for this upcoming Redmi phone on the China site. The Redmi Pro 2 will be first Redmi device from Xiaomi to sport such camera configurations.
