“Andromeda” : Microsoft’s Foldable Surface Phone

The Rumors about Microsoft’s long-awaited foldable phone, Surface Phone Codenamed Andromeda, Surface Phone is now expected to launch in the next year.

According to a new book ‘Beneath a Surface’, written by journalist and tech blog Thurrot.com collaborator Brad Sams, Microsoft’s foldable phone is going to be quite similar to Samsung’s recently unveiled foldable phone and Huawei’s upcoming foldable phones.

They also stated the story of how Microsoft put together its Surface hardware to become the fifth largest PC maker, creating a $1-billion-a-year business that keeps increasing every year thanks to first-rate hardware designs that rival and in some cases surpass Apple.

the device that started the entire book, the Surface Pro will get heavily updated in Q4 of 2019 with thinner bezels, new color options, USB-C, and a few other enhancements,” Sams added. –

The book tells a story about a tablet, which when folded acts as a smartphone. But Microsoft won’t be using the regular old Windows Phone OS, which is dead for a while now. Reportedly, it will offer a full-fledged Windows experience with some minor trimming at best.

The book also talks about other devices that Microsoft is planning through 2019. Expect a new Xbox One console, Surface laptops with AMD chips instead of Intel’s, re-designed Surface Studio and a direct iPad Pro 12.9 competitor with a USB-C charging port and rounded corners of the screen.

TheVerge reported that Microsoft Surface Phone will be compact and will easily fit in users’ pocket. The device is promised to be a “new and disruptive category”.

‘Beneath a Surface’ tells how the Redmond, Washington-headquartered software giant made its hardware dreams a reality by turning “a failure into a fortune”.
