ANDROID 9 : everything you need to know about “PIE”

Google Finally announced the name for the next version of Android that is 9.0:”pie” and it’s started rolling out with some exciting features but, it won’t work with every phone and not necessarily every feature you’ve heard about it.
Here on day one, the only phones getting the new Android 9 Pie update are Google’s own Pixels and the Essential Phone.
If you have a specific phone from the companies like Sony, Nokia, OnePlus, Oppo and Xiaomi that participated in Google’s beta program for Android 9 P, then you can expect your update in the coming months.

TOP FEATURES OF ANDROID PIE:

The features are divided into mainly three important categories and the AI plays a big role here.
The main 3 categories are:

– Intelligence
– Simplicity
– Digital Wellbeing

now talking about the ‘intelligence‘, the battery of your phone will be improved with the feature known as “Adaptive Battery”.
# Adaptive Battery learns how you like to use your phone so the apps and services you don’t use as much aren’t battery drain.
# Adaptive Brightness learns how you like to set your brightness and set it automatically.

moving forward there are the – app actions in which predicts what you are about to do and displays that action right on your phone.  it’s Tuesday morning and you’re preparing to go to your office you’ll be suggested actions like navigating to work on Google Maps. And when you put in headphones after work, you may see options like open youtube or your favorite app or start your favorite Spotify playlist or call someone.
Now talking about the “Slices”, which shows relevant information from your favorite apps when you need it. Next time when you search for Lyft, you can see prices and driver ETAs right within your results.

Simplicity

The complete UI is kept clean and simple. instead of 3 navigation buttons, there is a single, clean home button, by swiping up you can see a newly designed Overview.
basically, gestures play a big role here.

Digital wellbeing

Now you’ll get a dashboard in which you can see what apps have you used and the usage time, how many times you have unlocked your smartphone and many more.
and with that basis, you can limit your app usage. Now the screen will not give any feedback when you enable DND. so you can properly focus on your work. besides these, there is a wind-down mode, when you set your phone usage time, after the limit the screen automatically gets black and white.
plus they have updated the security and privacy and the smart features like adjust less, scroll less, charge less, tap less are added.
